FAQ’s

How soon do I need to book?

Celebration Cakes:
The sooner the better! If you would like to order a cake please let me know by phone or email and I will reserve the date for you. We can discuss details nearer the time if you are not sure what you want at the time of booking. To secure your cake booking a 50% non refundable deposit is payable, the balance to be paid upon collection/delivery.

Wedding Cakes:
I recommend that you make an initial enquiry by phone or email, giving me your date, venue location, serving size (finger or dessert) and design ideas so I can give you an estimate. I will then book you in for a full consultation and tasting session to further provide a quote. To confirm your order, a non refundable deposit of £100 is payable, with the balance being due 30 days before the collection/delivery date.  Payments can be made via cash, cheque or bank transfer.

How much do your cakes cost?
Each cake is made to order and individually designed, therefore prices will vary considerably.  As a guide; basic sponge celebration cakes starts at £45, 3D cakes start from around £70 and for a stunning three tier stacked Wedding Cake prices start from £350, although all budgets and cake sizes will be considered.  Please see my gallery for examples of styles and prices.

Where are you based?
Based in Bradmore, South Nottinghamshire, I supply cakes throughout Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire though my cakes have travelled throughout the UK.

Do you deliver?
Most of my customers collect their celebration cakes. Delivery to neighbouring villages of Bradmore is free. Delivery further afield can be arranged at an additional charge.  Wedding cakes are delivered and delivery and set up is 75 pence per mile round trip.

Can I have polystyrene dummy tiers to reduce the cost of the cake?
Polystyrene is useful if you like the idea of a really large cake, but only have a modest guest list.  The majority of the cost is in the decorating, therefore, a five tier cake using only three tiers of real cake will be reduced in cost slightly.

Can each tier be a different flavour?
You can have as many different flavours as you have tiers.

Can you copy a photo of a cake I’ve seen?
You are welcome to bring in photos of cakes from other designers as part of an inspiration board.

What should I bring to my Wedding Consultation Appointment?
Any materials you have for your Wedding can help in arriving at the perfect cake design. Invitations, pictures of the bride’s dress, jewellery, bouquet, fabric/colour swatches etc, all will assist in envisaging the look of your day and in designing a cake to compliment.
